At what point does evolutionary become revolutionary?
For thousands of years people have worked on progressively better and better technologies to try and reproduce, emulate or copy what they see with their eyes onto some kind of media that would allow others to see the same thing they had seen. It all started with the cave people that painted the animals that they saw on the walls of their homes. Every incremental improvement in the technology has moved us from grossly simplistic towards knocking on the door of absolute perfection of the what would have seemed impossible just a few decades ago. Slowly, step by step, the incremental improvements to the technology with each iteration being a little better than the previous version. We have now inched up the mountain to the point where we are actually near perfection. There is literally almost no room for further improvement. We can now make a display that is actually better than what the viewer has the ability to distinguish with their human eyes. Any significant improvement in resolution or in color depth would not be noticeable. Advancements in the future are going focused primarily on making the products even easier to install, service and making them cost less to make and sell.
It is nice to say every once and awhile, We have ARRIVED!!!! Now everyone can enjoy the fruits of thousands of people’s years of efforts that brought us to this point. Today, any display that is over 120” (diagonally measured) really should be built with Direct View LED Technology. Making large displays out of LCD TV sets is becoming less and less popular everyday. The main objections to the LCD video walls are the lines between the panels, the reflective plastic front face, low brightness, shorter lifetime and because they are hard to read from an angle.

End Users – They win because they are getting the right product to meet the needs of the facility for many, many years with very little fuss about the display itself and more emphasis on the content. After installation there is no maintenance required, uses almost no energy, no fans or moving parts at all to generate noise and it is easy to read from any viewing angle. Integrators – DV LED Displays are easy to install and service so it is easy to keep customers happy. Reasonable gross margins can be made selling a product that really does solves many problems for customers. It is easy to keep customers happy because the displays fail very rarely.
Viewers – The best color saturation, contrast, viewing angle, brightness, black levels, refresh rates, lag between off and on time and complete lack of any reflection off the display’s surface
Locations - no heat or unwanted sound sent into the location, the displays are easy to read with the ability to match the brightness of the display to the surrounding environment
Stockholders – They get a better return on their investment from a technology product that has a lifetime measured in decades as opposed to fiscal quarters.
The Environment - Lowest energy use of any display technology, no sound from fans or motors and all of the parts can be repaired thus keeping tons of dangerous materials out of landfills.
Achieves a Perfect Black level - Absolutely no light coming out of pixels when they are supposed to be black. Plus, brightnesses up to and including full sunlight visibility that is bright enough to sting your eyes the way sunlight does when it needs to be bright.ss
Accurate Colors - built by adding 24 bit color in increments of .0001% using a pure red, pure green and pure blue light engine for each pixel as opposed to a subtractive method as you have with LCD and various projector technologies where you start with a white light source and use LCD to subtract away the colors for each pixel that you do not need.
No glass - to get broken OR to reflect ambient light that interferes with the excellent contrast delivered by the black matte surface of the shaders and LED lenses.
The very high refresh rate - reduces eye fatigue and allows perfect capture by video and still cameras.
Advanced Calibration Technology - No problems with matching the colors individual panels to each other. Each product family’s panels built to the same color parameters
No limits on size or shape of the display – use standard 480mm (18.9”) square panels for each pixel pitch, brightness and cabinet rating. Common frame design can house almost any product family of panels.
Modular Components - If some part of the display stops working for any reason, it can easily be replaced or repaired. No part of the display costs more than a few percentage points of the sales price.
100% solid state technology - no moving parts, no noise, extremely low operating cost and hardly any heat is generated by the displays at all, even when running at full brightness.
Resolution to fit the Environment - for viewing distances as close as 1 few feet to a few thousand feet and everywhere in-between, displays are built with the proper pixel pitch for the viewing distance. Exceptional viewing angle with no color shift guarantees that everyone has a perfect view of the display.
